Callaway Beef's LLC, Panama City

As an Alum of UWF, I was sent information on applying for a COVID relief grant. The application process was easy, and the consultant was incredibly helpful. I was awarded $5,000 which was such an amazing help during one of the most trying periods my full-service restaurant has ever experienced. Thank you!

Surfside Dining, LLC dba Shane's Rib Shack, Panama City Beach

Shane's Rib Shack - Panama City Beach wants to say 'Thank You' to the Florida SBDC at UWF and especially Christa Wilson for all the help, both guidance and financial, they gave us during this pandemic. We are a local family-owned small business (restaurant) located in Panama City Beach, FL. We are largely dependent on tourism. At the beginning of the pandemic, there was a lot of uncertainty about the future of our business and the employees that have become like our family. When the city shut down in-store dining and travel became almost non-existent, our fears were coming true. With the help of the Florida SBDC at UWF, we were able to implement a plan to remain open with a no-contact, curbside pick-up system. The financial help we received gave us the much-needed help to maintain our current staffing levels while our dining rooms were closed. We have been very blessed to keep our entire staff, both part-time and full-time employees. In 2020, we added an additional full-time employee to assist with our curbside pick-ups. Thank you, again, Christa Wilson for all your help.

Aquatic Adventures Management Group, Inc., Panama City

…We honestly do not feel that we would have been successful in obtaining anywhere near the almost $800,000 [in Covid-19 disaster funding] that we received without having Len's [Florida SBDC consultant] assistance and personal touch. So very helpful. We definitely couldn't have done it without him and the Florida SBDC. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
