Founded in 2007 by former U.S. Reconnaissance Marines, Invictus is a Boynton Beach-based provider of security and training services.
Invictus, which translates to “undefeated” in Latin, is spearheaded by former U.S. Marine Phillip Noblin, vice president, and Patrick Miller, president. The duo met while working their way up in the ranks during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
In 2011, Noblin sought help regarding the government procurement process from the Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center. Since then, Noblin has taken advantage of no-cost professional business consulting and training events in the areas of government contracting and accelerating the growth of his business from the Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center and Florida SBDC, respectively. With assistance from the Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center, the company has renovated their office space, hired approximately 20 additional security personnel, and secured two U.S. Government Logistics Support Contracts for operations in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Invictus, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, has grown from a two-man operation to employing a full-time staff of 20 and a part-time staff of five. According to the duo, what sets them apart from other security service providers is their dedication to training officers. As the only Security Training Academy in Florida approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs, they recruit, hire, and employ a large number of U.S. Military Veterans.
In 2012, Invictus provided Expeditionary Logistics and Life Support Services for the U.S. Navy’s HSV 2 SWIFT deployment, encompassing bilateral training, subject matter expert exchange, and humanitarian relation construction services. The company provided linguist and logistics support for construction, medical, and military training teams which operated in Haiti. Due to the flawless execution of the two contracts, the company bid on an open competitive solicitation and was awarded a similar contract for Logistics Support. The contract, which has a term of one base year with the option of an additional four, has a total potential of $1.8 million.
To give back, the company donates hundreds of hours to building and renovating homes for wounded war veterans so that they may live comfortably. They also actively sponsor events that support wounded warriors and their families.
