Florida APEX Accelerator -Tech Transition and Commercialization Specialist
Job Description:
The Technology Transition and Commercialization Specialist, a member of the Florida APEX Accelerator, will play a pivotal role in supporting activities to facilitate the transition of innovative technologies from federal labs, universities, research institutions into the commercial marketplace and introducing novel technologies into the Department of Defense and other government agencies. Florida SBDC at the University of West Florida (Pensacola) - Business Consultant
Job Description:
Educate and advise clients on growth strategies, business model concepts and advanced financial forecasting, advanced capital structures and strategies through following network consulting policies and procedures. One-on-one advice and consulting to be provided to include: business and strategic plan development; financial analysis and planning; marketing research and plan development; business management and operations; and basic legal issues. Develop educational materials and present educational programs as appropriate. Outreach to educate clients, partners and stakeholders on SBDC services and impact.
Contribute to knowledge creation and dissemination through communicating with peers and participating in network activities. Significant networking and alliance building with community partners including Economic Development Agencies, Chambers of Commerce, and other community organizations for the purpose of building client service base. Must be able to work both independently and collaboratively. This position requires successful completion of 20 hours of pre-approved professional development credits each calendar year.

Florida SBDC at the University of West Florida - Training & Curriculum Coordinator
Job Description:
The incumbent is responsible for the development, overall direction, and oversight of region-wide outreach, education, and training programming. Includes coordinating with consultants and stakeholders on implementing methods to increase visibility in the community and enhance service delivery. Development of programs includes curating thought-leader content, public speaking opportunities, networking and tradeshow events, and partnership opportunities. Duties include assisting leadership and staff with reaching annual goals, enhancing visibility via attending, or coordinating attendance, at outreach events, creating/coordinating appropriate SBDC collateral.
Administrative duties include reporting and management of outreach efforts by providing quarterly graphics/flyers/documentation for distribution to stakeholders, providing support to consultants as needed at events and creating and distributing announcements of events and services. The incumbent will provide support for Florida SBDC at UWF and Florida APEX Accelerators at UWF. This position will assemble and develop on-demand training opportunities for entrepreneurs and business owners and participate in the development of internal staff training modules. The Marketing Coordinator develops marketing strategies and creates effective marketing campaigns consistent with Small Business Development Center initiatives.
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Develops marketing strategies and creates effective marketing campaigns.
- Provides creative leadership in generating original ideas for media outreach strategies that achieve strategic goals; ensures that the designs follow the correct branding; and are in-line with appropriate targets and timelines.
- Manages the design and development of website and social media content that supports the department’s marketing initiatives.
