MAC Offers Onsite Disaster Recovery Assistance for Businesses Impacted by Hurricane Matthew
Florida SBDC Network Headquarters (Pensacola, Fla.) - Following Hurricane Matthew's destructive path across Florida's east coast last week, the Florida SBDC Network deployed its emergency response Mobile Assistance Center (MAC) to Northeast Florida to aid local businesses impacted by the storm.
As part of its service offering, the MAC - a 38' RV equipped with laptops, printer, satellite communication, and more - will travel to St. Augustine to provide on-site assistance for businesses impacted by Hurricane Matthew. Florida SBDC disaster specialists will be available to help affected businesses prepare disaster loan applications, including the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan, and with other post-disaster challenges.
As a principal responder in the state's Emergency Support Function (ESF) 18 for Business, Industry, and Economic Stabilization, the Florida SBDC Network supports disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation through its Business Continuation Services.
"We are saddened to see and hear the stories of damage and loss that individuals and small businesses have suffered," said Michael Myhre, CEO and Network State Director for the Florida SBDC Network. "We want business owners to know that we're here to help walk them through the recovery process to ensure they get back on their feet as quickly as possible."
What: The Florida SBDC at the University of North Florida (UNF) will provide on-site assistance to help businesses impacted by Hurricane Matthew prepare disaster loan applications and with other post-disaster challenges.
