AceApplications Founder Named Minority-Owned Small Business Person of the Year

Headquartered in Orlando, AceApplications is a premier technology solutions provider. Founder Courtney Powell comes from humble beginnings, having immigrated to the U.S. from Jamaica.

After a successful corporate career, Powell capitalized on his entrepreneurial spirit and founded AceApplications out of his home. Under his leadership, AceApplications has risen to success. Local clients include Orlando International Airport, Central Florida Expressway Authority, Central Florida Research Park and Orange County Public Schools. Recognizing the importance of giving back, Powell donates an average of 200 hours per year to nonprofit organizations and fundraising efforts, especially those focused on empowering children to pursue STEM careers.

Seeking help growing his business, Powell turned to the Florida SBDC at UCF and the Florida Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at UCF for assistance, whereby he received guidance in marketing, human resources, financial management, and government contracting.

As a testament to Powell’s leadership, he was recently selected as the 2019 Minority-Owned Small Business Person of the Year for the state of Florida by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
