Safe Solutions USA is a Jacksonville-based company that manufactures and distributes world class, premium passenger, guiding systems in North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean Islands. Until recently, there has not been a universal solution for passenger guidance and control between terminals and aircrafts. Safe Solutions USA developed a proven and tested passenger guidance system designed to be a highly mobile, one-person operation, that safely and effectively guides passengers without confusion or assistance from ground support personnel. Safe Solutions USA supports passenger flow for underwing airplane boarding.
After acquiring the distribution rights for a successful Norwegian technology, Amanda Cordano, CEO and Managing Director and her husband Ted Cordano worked with the Florida SBDC at UNF and Enterprise Florida to establish manufacturing capabilities in Jacksonville. They worked with the Florida SBDC at UNF to analyze competitors, improve their website and social media presence, and identify additional beneficial resources and tools.
“Our lead consultant, Julia Montgomery, has been very helpful in coordinating our relationship with the SBDC, the SBA and other agencies such as Enterprise Florida. She has also introduced us to the fabulous databases and resources that are available at no cost to small businesses in our state,” says Amanda of her experience with the Florida SBDC at UNF. “We have really benefited from our collaboration with the FSBDC at UNF, and we look forward to continued engagement as we grow our business.”
Their guidance systems are currently in use throughout Europe, so Amanda and Ted are now taking great strides in bringing this technology stateside and have begun to penetrate the U.S. marketspace despite the challenges presented by Covid19.
“We really had our work cut out for us last year, starting a new company that supports the aviation industry in the middle of a pandemic,” says Cordano about her start-up experience. “However, we worked very closely with the talented consultants and specialists at the Florida SBDC and we were able to make the best out of a tough situation. We are now poised to build upon the foundation that we laid last year by taking the time to work on our business plan and our marketing strategy.”
Utilizing the services of the Florida SBDC at UNF, the company has navigated the complex start-up process amidst a global pandemic and the consequent economic downturn with success and capacity for growth.
