New Regional Director Selected to Lead FSBDC at Florida Gulf Coast University

FSBDCN Headquarters: The Florida SBDC Network is pleased to welcome Lois Knox as the new Regional Director of the Florida Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). In this role, Knox will provide strategy and oversight of business development efforts in the five-county region of Southwest Florida. Knox was selected to serve as Regional Director following the retirement of Dan Regelski, who pioneered the development of the center nearly twenty years ago. Knox will assume her new position beginning July 1.

Lois KnoxKnox holds nearly 30 years of financial management experience. Prior to her appointment, Knox served as Assistant Director for Business and Finance for the Florida SBDC Network State Office in Pensacola. In this role, she assisted in the financial management and operational oversight of the Network's more than 40 centers across the state.

"Lois brings a wealth of experience and talent to the FSBDC at FGCU," said Michael Myhre, CEO and Network State Director for the Florida SBDC. "Her tenacity and experience both at the state level and with small businesses will provide the leadership needed to grow business development efforts in the Southwest Florida region."

Prior to joining the Florida SBDC, Knox served as a grant manager for the University of West Florida and worked previously with small businesses in Ohio, Missouri, Georgia and Florida for over twenty years in helping set-up their financial reporting systems. She holds a master's degree from the University of Akron and a bachelor's degree from the Ohio State University. Knox received the Florida SBDC Network State Office Employee of the Year Award in 2013.
